Elemental Magick is the type of magick
that uses the elements. It is in almost
all forms of magick.
Spirit or also known as Akasha is the fifth
element that runs through all elements and binds them together. It is the
energy of possibilities and paths not yet taken. It is a balanced energy. It is
projective and receptive, the colors that represent are black or purple, places
are in outer space, no ritual types, no creatures, all directions and
dimensions, no magickal tool, and no symbol.
Water
is contained in our bodies which is needed to make us live, only earth and
water can bring a living energy. It also contains the energy of love. It is
receptive, color representing it is blue, places lakes; oceans; rivers; seas;
etc., ritual types purification; love; psychic awareness; and
dreams, creatures cat and most fish, direction is west, magickal tool is a cup or cauldron, and symbols are shells or bowls of water.
Fire transforms objects into new forms like
heat, light, ash, and smoke. It creates and destroys. Fire must be controlled
by us. Type of energy is projective, color red, places volcanoes; fireplaces;
bonfires, ritual types protection; courage; sex; energy; banishing negativity;
passion, creatures lizard and scorpion, direction is south, magickal tool is
the athame, and symbols are a flame or a heated object.
Earth is in
other words called our mother for its nurture to us. Gravity is also a
manifestation of earth. Without this element we would not be living. Type of
energy is receptive, color is green, places fields; farms; caves; gardens;
etc., ritual types money; fertility; grounding; employment; wisdom; growth,
creatures dog and burrowing animals, direction north, magickal tool a wooden
pentacle or a piece of earth, and symbols are salt; rocks; plants; and acorns.
Air is invisible but real and essential to human
life. It is the element of movement. Air also rules the four winds. It is
linked to thinness and motion because it is also a light element. Type of
energy is projective, color is yellow, places are high towers; cloudy skies;
and mountain tops, ritual types are knowledge; finding lost things; travel;
freedom; inspiration; and imagination, creatures are birds and winged insects,
direction is east, magickal tool is the wand, and the symbols are incense
smoke; bird feather; or the smell of flowers.
