Poppet Magick is kind of like voodoo. It represents the figure of the
someone you are working the spell for. The poppets can be made from
anything like sticks, cloths, clay, metal, etc. They are also sold in stores but
making your own is the better way to do it so it has your own energies
in it. Attaching a personal object, hair, or etc of the person you are working
the spell for is also needed so the spell knows who to target.
Wax Poppet
- Melt 7 new candles, what ever color candle stands for the spell is best, on low heat till they soften, not liquefy.
- Remove the wicks.
- Shape the poppet into a head, body, arms, and legs. But try to make it look more like the person and their features, like if they are thin or heavyset, long legs or short legs, etc. If you have oil that you want to use on this poppet rub it on your hands if not lethal and work with shaping the poppet that way.
- Personal items like hair, nails, etc are worked into the wax.
- Then add the herbs your are going to use.
- Have something that represents the heart in the chest like a stone, drawing of the heart, etc.
Cloth Poppet
- Take any type of fabric and cut 2 identical human like shapes .
- Draw, sew, paint, etc anything meaningful to the fabric like symbols, numbers, letters, or words on the right side of the shape.
- Sew or draw a heart with the color that represents the spell in the chest area.
- Sew the shapes together with a hole in it to put the stuffing in. Make sure the meaningful drawings are on the back facing inside, and the heart is in the front and facing outward.
- Mix in the personal belongings like the hair, nails, and herbs at this time with the stuffing and stuff the poppet. The stuffing can be wool, paper, cotton, and even herbs.
- Finally continue to sew the poppet up.
Clay Poppet
- Take some clay and shape the poppet into a head, body, arms, and legs. Like the wax poppet try to make it look more like the person and their features.
- Make a hole in the head region and put the herbs, oil, or personal items of the person in it, then cover the hole with clay.
- For the heart in the chest area make another hole and put something that resembles the heart like a stone. Another way to do a heart on a clay poppet is to draw one in with a pin on the chest area.
- If the clay dries to quickly or cracks just wet it a bit with your fingers and smooth it over.
Paper Poppet
- Take any type of paper, can be white or can have a color that represents the spell, then cut a human like shape.
- Write the name or initials of the person who you are working the spell for.
- Draw anything meaningful to the paper like symbols, numbers, letters, or words.
- Draw a heart with the color that represents the spell in the chest area.
- Lastly dab oil you want to use for the poppet in the head region.
