Some magic recipes and spells call for the
addition of graveyard dust or graveyard earth. When you visit a graveyard make
sure it’s the dead of night and you are guided to the right grave by intuition.
Graveyard dust is helpful because it invokes the spirits on the other side.
High spirits do not come to this type of command they still have free will, it
only calls lower energy spirits that can be manipulated. In hoodoo Graveyard
dust is called for spells of protection, enemy tricks, and love. It can be good
or evil depending on how you use it or whom you take the dirt from.

Crossroads
Crossroads
are a customary site of religious and magical significance. The Greek goddess
of Witchcraft, Hecate was also the Goddess of the cross roads. This meaning is
used metaphorically as a place where other things, both physical and abstract,
meet. It was said that Hecate appeared on crossroads at midnight with spirits
and howling dogs. Offerings were left at the crossroads for her. In Celtic it
was tradition to sit at crossroads and listen for the howling of winds which
would prophesy the year to come. Crossroads also represent the intersection of
positive, neutral, and negative forces. It also is where pacts with the devils
are made, selling your soul which is involved with hoodoo magic.
