Familiars are regular animals that have a magic quality to guide and protect their witches. Familiars are connected to the elements and nature like powers, so it is common for them to walk out when two people are fighting because they do not wish to absorb the bad energy coming from the fight. They are all unique to its witch and can basically be any type of animal the witch has an instant connection with cats, dogs, toads, owls, mice/rats, snakes, and birds. The connection is something you will feel and notice. They also guard the circle when spell work is being done. Witches can have more than one familiar. Each familiar gives us something to learn and gives us the protection and guidance we need in life. Familiars can be physical, spiritual, or astral also. They are not only good magickal protectors of your circle and everything around it, they are supernatural radars to detect evil by reacting in an unusual/mean way.
